French Neuroscience Society – IBRO awards

Initiative supported by

In partnership with IBRO, the French Neuroscience Society offers support to PhD students and young researchers to attend the NeuroFrance 2025 meeting and the opportunity for foreign neuroscientists to visit French laboratories to search for a post-doctoral position in France.

Support amounts to:

€ 500 for award-winners residing in France
€ 1,000 for award-winners residing in Europe (except France)
€ 1,800 for award-winners residing outside Europe

Eligibility criteria:

For candidates residing in France

Candidates must be students in the last year of their PhD program or young non-tenured researchers having less than 7 years of experience (after graduation)
Not be a citizen or resident of a country subject to economic sanctions as defined by IBRO

For candidates residing out of France

Candidates must be students in the last year of their PhD program or young non-tenured researchers having less than 7 years of experience (after graduation)
Not be a citizen or resident of a country subject to economic sanctions as defined by IBRO
Prior to their participation to the NeuroFrance meeting, applicants are requested to contact at least two French laboratories and set up visiting appointments

For candidates residing in France

A curriculum vitae in English or French which should include: the research interests, the year of defense and thesis title, publications, congresses/workshop attendance, oral or poster presentations, prizes and grants received as well as current position
A personal motivation letter outlining your background, explaining how participation in NeuroFrance 2025 (and visits to French laboratories for foreign neuroscientists) could positively influence your career. The selection committee will pay particular attention to the information you are willing to provide about your background and the aspects that may have impacted your integration into the academic world and the progression of your career.

For candidates residing out of France
