Call for tenders
International PI Call, Collège de France, Paris
Candidates are invited to apply for independent group leader position at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Biology (CIRB), located on the Collège de France campus in central Paris, France.
CIRB is an internationally recognized research Center in biology with 18 groups involved in interdisciplinary basic and translational research. CIRB brings together a community of scientists with interests in biophysics, cancer, cardio-vascular physiology, developmental biology, evolution, microbiology, neurobiology and mathematical modeling, with a shared interest for the complexity and dynamics of biological systems. Within the CIRB integrated environment, the groups use different model systems including a variety of multicellular and unicellular organisms and develop approaches ranging from molecular and cellular levels to whole organisms and populations.
CIRB offers a truly unique research environment with multiple research laboratories, state-of-the-art animal house and imaging facilities. It is affiliated and supported by Inserm, CNRS and Collège de France, a partner of PSL University.
Successful candidates will be recruited as group leaders for a first period of 5 years, renewable every 5 year on the basis of their scientific evaluation. Recruitment packages include a contribution to running and equipment costs, access to state-of-the-art core facilities and laboratory space for up to 10 people.
We invite applications from experimental or theoretical scientists, at any stage of their career, aiming at deciphering fundamental biological mechanisms. Among the evaluation criteria are the quality of their scientific record and project, and the capacity to interface with other disciplines. Applications addressing all fields will be considered, including the development and use of “omics”, exploring the interfaces between biology and chemistry or genomics and evolutionary genetics or with an interest for computational neurosciences.
If not already appointed, the successful candidates should meet the criteria to compete for national and international funding, and for French institutional research positions (CNRS, INSERM, Universities).
Applicants must send a curriculum vitae with their complete list of publications, a 2-page summary of their research achievements, a 2-page project in English, and 2-3 letters of recommendation. Applications must be sent as a single pdf file to Brigitte Bouchard before July 15th 2022.
Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview in the fall of 2022 and we expect offers to be made in December 2022.
CIRB is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity in its recruitment process.
