Irène Joliot-Curie Prize 2023 : Special Commitment Prize
The “Special Commitment Prize” was created in 2020 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Irène Joliot-Curie Prize, which each year rewards women scientists for their work. Its aim is to reward women for both their scientific careers and their commitment to a great cause.
This year’s Commitment Award goes to a woman scientist who has been particularly active in raising awareness and encouraging girls and young people in general to take up science. Disparities in career choices, and their consequences in terms of the persistent under-representation of women in scientific fields, represent a major challenge for professional, economic, social and technological equality.
The selection process for this year’s prize is different from that of previous years. The Ministry is solely responsible for setting up and organizing the selection panel.
The winner of the “Special Commitment Prize” receives a sum of €40,000.
The deadline for applications is midnight November 30, 2023.
